The MMP Mentor Program
will involve the efforts of experienced Conflict Resolution
practitioners nationwide, giving them an opportunity to
participate in the MMP in a meaningful way without a need to
be physically present in Mississippi.
Each Mentor will be
asked to provide ongoing, as-needed support to one (or more,
if they choose) designated participants of MMP Skills
workshops. This is intended to be a fluid relationship, in
which it will be the role of the Mentors to provide guidance
and feedback to MMP participants, following their completion
of an MMP Skills workshop, in their use of the newly-learned
skills and development of competency.
Support may be provided
via any method agreed upon between the Mentor and Mentee,
including support via telephone, email and personal visits.
The MMP will offer two
differing levels of Mentoring support:
-
Support
to individuals who have completed an MMP
Essential Problem Solving Skills training workshop and
need guidance in using those skills in their daily lives.
-
MMP Mentors are welcome
and encouraged to volunteer as
Mediators-in-Residence, in order to enhance their personal
satisfaction and relationships they develop with their Mentees.
