Become an EPSS Trainer in Your Community

Begun in late September, 2007, the Mississippi Mediation Project ("MMP") will continue to train a small groups of  selected community members who have demonstrated superior competence in the understanding of techniques learned in the Essential Problem Solving Skills training and are interested in conducting future trainings in MMP Essential Problem Solving Skills within their own and other nearby communities.  This effort will be led by Richard Dodson of Ridge Associates, one of our collaborating organizations.

This training will be intensive and be carried out over the course of several months, in three 4-day sessions.  Upon successful completion, trainees will be fully prepared to lead EPSS workshops in local and nearby communities and will become MMP EPSS trainers.  All trainees accepted into this program must agree in advance to attend all three sessions of training and to join the MMP team as volunteer trainers for a minimum of four EPSS workshops in each of  the two years following completion of the training.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of MMP EPSS training, AND

  • facilitation of an MMP EPSS training workshop.

The cost of this training is $10,000 per person, with 50% of this cost underwritten by the MMP.  Scholarships will be available, for all or part of the remainder of this fee, for any qualified applicant with financial need who cannot arrange to have this fee underwritten by a community organization or an employer.

Dates and locations of this training will be announced and MMP will accept applications for this training  on a continuing basis.  In order to apply for this training, please contact Laurel Kaufer at (877) 663-3428 or by email at laurel@mississippimediationproject.org.
