Community Mediation and Conflict Resolution
Training
Mediation is a process by which all persons involved in a
dispute are joined by an independent and neutral third party
who discusses the issues in dispute with them and assists them
in arriving at a mutually agreeable outcome which will resolve
their conflict.
The
MMP Mediation Training workshop will train a select group of
community members who have demonstrated competence in the use of
techniques learned in the Essential Problem Solving Skills
training and are interested in becoming MMP mediators within
their communities.
As a
Community Mediator you may be called upon by the MMP or
members of your community to act as a neutral in assisting
persons in conflict resolve their disputes. Examples of
disputes which you may be called upon to mediate include, but
may not be limited to: neighbor/neighbor, landlord/tenant,
