Mississippi Center for
Non-Profits, Jackson, MS (Fiscal Sponsor): In addition to acting as Fiscal Sponsor of
the MMP, MCNP has expressed a desire to collaborate with the MMP
in extending its programming to non-profits throughout
Mississippi.
City of Moss Point, MS,
Mayor Xavier Bishop, an ardent and early supporter of the MMP,
has made available the Pelican Landing Conference and Convention
Center for the kick-off facility for MMP EPSS training
workshops.
Community Relations Service, United States
Department of Justice, Washington, DC: CRS has agreed to collaborate
with the MMP in the creation and implementation of specialized
training programs and/or mediation involving racial tensions or
school violence within the targeted communities.
Mediate.com, Eugene, OR:
Jim Melamed of Mediate.com has generously provided the MMP with
advertising space and guidance on internet placement and
promotion. With over 4 million annual visitors,
Mediate.com
is the world’s leading mediation web site, offering over 2,500
free articles and an expansive video library. In providing
comprehensive web site development, Internet marketing and
educational opportunities, Mediate.com is the internet resource
for "everything mediation", serving as a bridge between
professional mediators, referral sources and participants.
Mediators Beyond Borders:
MBB Members have made an ongoing committment to the MMP to
provide necessary mediation, training, leadership and advisory
services on an annual basis, which began with their remarkable
participation in MMP's "Day of Dialogue" on March 5, 2008, in
Biloxi, MS.
Negotiation, Conflict
Resolution, and Peacebuilding Program, California State
University, Dominguez Hills, CA: As part of its collaborative effort with MMP, the NCRPP
has offered to provide an online certificate program to students
in Mississippi. In addition, the NCRP Alumni
Association (NCRPAA), which provides periodic continuing
education materials/presentations and member support in the
practice of Conflict Resolution skills, has agreed to welcome
all MMP trainees as members of the Association. As such,
trainees also become members of the CSU, Dominguez Hills Alumni
Association.
Princeton University
Ombuds Office, Princeton, NJ: Through the services of
its former Associate Ombuds, Nicholas Diehl, Princeton University provided facilitation training and services to
the Steps Coalition, a coalition of Gulf Coast community organizations
serving the needs of residents of communities also served
by MMP programming.
Ridge Training, St.
Paul, MN: Founded in 1972 by Robert Bolton and his wife
Dorothy Grover Bolton. Both had seen the destructive results of
poor communication in their work, but they also knew that
skillful communication had the power to make significant
contributions to the quality of relationships, learning, work,
and life. With a handful of committed colleagues they began
exploring what they today we call "best practices" in human
communication as well as the best ways of teaching those skills
to others. Ridge has spent most of the past 30 years addressing
performance and communication needs of Fortune 1,000
organizations and their employees. Under the leadership
now of, Jim Bolton, Ridge has not only donated over 100 copies
of their book "People Skills" for use in MMP workshops, but will
be spearheading one of MMP's exciting future projects in
community saturation of problem solving skills.
Straus Institute for
Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine University, Malibu, CA: The Straus Institute has provided
facility use and faculty guidance to the MMP in its
organizational and program development. Straus has committed to
continue this collaboration with the MMP and has expressed an
interest in placing student externs within the project during
the “Mediator in Residence” weeks and as mentor support to
trainees.
