Learn More About our Projects
Training Workshops:
Mentor Program:
Targeted to begin in 2009,
the MMP Mentor Program
will involve the efforts of experienced Conflict Resolution
practitioners nationwide, giving them an opportunity to
participate in the MMP in a meaningful way without a need to be
physically present in Mississippi.

Mediator-in-Residence
Program:
It was
the original
intent of MMP
visionaries that this program would begin in late 2009, following the creation of a
locally sustainable EPSS program, but the opportunities arose in
2008, and we grabbed them!

As originally planned, in
late 2009, MMP staff, along with community members who have
successfully completed that EPSS workshop, will begin the
process of identifying communities which are in need of the
guidance of skilled and experienced Conflict Resolution
providers who volunteer with the MMP to act as
Mediators-in-Residence. MMP Mediators-in-Residence
will be working hand-in-hand with those members of the community
who have been trained by the MMP, as well as local Community
Service Organizations and Governmental Entities, guiding them in
the application of the newly learned Essential Problem Solving
Skills and/or Community Mediation and Conflict Resolution
Skills.
As volunteers,
Mediators-in-Residence will donating their time and expertise
and will be responsible for their own expenses, but will be
guests of the communities in which they are volunteering and may
have the option of being housed with the volunteers of one of
the many volunteer organizations currently serving these
communities.
MMP Library Project:
Concurrent with our
training workshops, it is the vision of the MMP that we would
also be able to install a section of books and publications on
Mediation, Conflict Resolution and Collaborative Problem Solving
in the public libraries in the communities we serve. This
will ensure that participants in MMP workshops, as well as
members of the community-at-large, have a permanent resource for
questions and enhanced practice of their newly-learned skills.
The first installation of
our Library Project took place on February 28, 2007, at the
Ina Thompson Moss Point Library,
as a gift to the host community of our first EPSS Training
workshop, Moss Point, Mississippi.

donated a similar collection to the Gulfport Library as it began
its rebuilding process.
